Last month's abundant rain caused some temporary delays to the turf field project at Charlottesville High School - and those delays are now forcing the football team to adjust its schedule.
Athletic director Rick Lilly announced on Wednesday that the school's homecoming game has been moved to November 4, when the Black Knights host Powhatan in their regular season finale.
The original plan was for the October 14 game against Western Albemarle to be homecoming at CHS. But that game has been moved to October 13 at Monticello, Lilly said Wednesday.
The projected completion date for the field renovation is now November 2. Lilly said workers hope to begin laying the turf by next week.
