Charlottesville and Louisa met on Wednesday night in both boys and girls basketball to make up games that were originally scheduled to tip off on Tuesday. At the end of the night, it was the Knights celebrating district victories.
Deshaun Blakey and Daquan Jones led four Charlottesville boys in double figures as the Knights cruised to a 74-48 win over the Lions. Blakey posted 16 points, while Jones added 14 in the victory. The Knight improve to 5-1 in district play and keep pace with Fluvanna and Orange, which also only have one district loss.
The Charlottesville girls also posted a victory, topping Louisa, 46-21. The Knights only have one loss in the Jefferson District all season and remain just one game behind Western Albemarle for the district lead.
STAB had no problems with Covenant on Wednesday afternoon, topping the Eagles, 68-21. Sarah Imovbioh posted another big night for the Saints, tallying 29 points and 19 rebounds. Sarah Toliver chipped in eleven points to help STAB's cause. The Saints are back in action at home on Friday, hosting Liberty Christian.
