After falling to Albemarle earlier in the season, the Western Albemarle boys' basketball team hoped to even the score in Crozet on Saturday night. Despite having the home court advantage this time around, the Warriors came up on the wrong end of a 53-47 final. Albemarle's Michael Ledford led all scorers with 15 points, and Jeremiah Morris and Kendall Hawkins each chipped in 12. Western was led by Jake Niddifer with 14 points.
On the girls' side, Western Albemarle beat Albemarle by a final of 47-32. Western's Ellen Shaffrey had a huge day with 22 points and Caroline Schneller added eight. Jessica Hairston led the way for Albemarle with eight points.
In other girls' action, Monticello put together a solid performance with a 63-42 win over Madison.
