Several area teams took the court on Saturday after games were postponed on Friday night.
An Albemarle County clash headlined the action on the boys' side with Monticello hosting Albemarle. The Patriots got 14 points apiece from Kendall Hawkins and Jake Hendrix as they cruised to a 67-46 win over the Mustangs.
Over in Greene County, Charlottesville put its undefeated record on the line against William Monroe. The Black Knights started the game on an 8-0 run and never looked back, beating the Greene Dragons 57-27. Charlottesville is now 4-0.
Fluvanna also stayed perfect with a 61-45 win over Madison. YaYa Anderson led the way with 33 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds for the Flucos. Jamal Toliver also added a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, as the Flucos improve to 5-0.
Western Albemarle played a close game with Spotswood, but ended up falling by a final of 58-54.
On the girls' side, William Monroe continued its stellar start to the season with a 63-49 win over Charlottesville. Alexa Smith led the way for the Dragons with 19 points and Alex Cave added 17 points in the win. William Monroe is now 7-1, 2-1 in the Jefferson District.
Albemarle and Monticello also met on the girls' side, with Albemarle pulling out a 71-66 win in overtime.
