The Fluvanna boys stayed undefeated with a 71-55 win over Prince Edward in the Fluvanna Christmas Bash. YaYa Anderson led the way with 24 points for the Flucos and T.J. Dudley added a career-high 14 points. The Flucos (8-0) will face Spotsylvania Wednesday night at 8:00.
In other boys' action, Albemarle punched its ticket to the holiday classic tournament championship game with a 64-62 win over Waynesboro in the semifinals. Andrew Mann had the game-winning shot for the Patriots.
In the other boys' semifinal game, Culpeper beat Charlottesville 66-41. Culpeper will face Albemarle in the title game at 8:15 Wednesday night at Charlottesville High School, while Charlottesville will take on Waynesboro in the third place game at CHS. That game is set for a 4:45 tip-off.
In the loser's bracket, Covenant beat Western Albemarle 60-49. The Eagles will face Spotswood in the fifth place game at 4:15 at Western Albemarle High School. The Warriors take on Heritage in the seventh place game at 12:45 at WAHS.
In girls' action, the Miller School advanced to the title game with a 54-38 win over Liberty Christian Academy. In the other semifinal game, Spotswood defeated Western Albemarle 66-61 in overtime. Ellen Shaffrey had 19 points for the Warriors, and Raven Ward and Kelsey Swanson added 16 points apiece. Miller will take on Spotswood for the title at 6:30 at CHS. The Warriors face LCA in the 3rd place game at CHS at 3:00.
In the loser's bracket, Albemarle fell to Mt. Carmel Christian 53-43, and Charlottesville beat Waynesboro 30-21. The Patriots will take on Waynesboro at 11:00 AM at WAHS in the seventh place game, while the Black Knights will face Mt. Carmel Christian in the fifth place game at 2:30 at WAHS.
Elsewhere, the William Monroe girls topped East Rockingham 62-61 in overtime in the first game of the Dragons' holiday tournament. Alex Cave led four Dragons in double-figures with 20 points. The Dragons will take on Page in the championship game Wednesday night at 6:00.
