The ink has barely dried on the letters of intent of last week's National Signing Day, and college football programs are already fully focused on the Class of 2013.
So are the national college football recruiting websites -- with Fork Union quarterback Christian Hackenberg a mainstay on the preliminary rankings for his senior class.
On Thursday, Hackenberg was ranked No. 153 on the Rivals 250, the website's initial ranking of the top college prospects for 2013. The website rates Hackenberg as a four-star prospect.
Last week, ESPN.com included Hackenberg on its first list of the top 100 prospects for next season. Though players weren't ranked on that list, Hackenberg was rated as a five-star recruit.
Another recruiting website, 247Sports.com, also rates Hackenberg as a four-star recruit.
Last June, Virginia became the first college program to offer Hackenberg a scholarship. His father, Erick, played quarterback at UVa in the early 1990s.
Alabama, Penn State, Tennessee, and South Carolina are among the other schools who have made scholarship offers to Hackenberg, who threw for 2,164 yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior at Fork Union last fall.
