Fluvanna County pole vaulter Hannah Meador is one of 10 female finalists for the state's High School Heisman award.
Meador is one of 20 total finalists selected from a pool of 856 applicants from around Virginia. The state's male and female winners will be announced next Monday. The 2013 national High School Heisman winners -- chosen from a pool of 12 finalists among the state winners -- will be announced on December 13.
Meador, a senior at Fluvanna, has won the last three pole vault titles at the AA state track meet in Harrisonburg. She also tied for third in the girls' pole vault at last spring's Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
