March 13, 2012

It was not only the season-opener for Fluvanna lacrosse Tuesday, but also marked the beginning for the high school lacrosse program. The Fluco boys' and girls' teams kicked off 2012 with losses to Liberty.

The girls opened the season at home with the Eagles, leading 3-0 early in the game on goals from Megan Graham, Clay Connor, and Allie Gsell. Tied up at halftime, Liberty battled to a 13-11 victory. Fluvanna goalie Elizabeth Jensen had 13 saves. Connor had four goals to lead the way offensively.

The Fluco boys traveled to Liberty on Tuesday and fell 9-1 to the Eagles. Both teams will have another shot at LHS next week.

The girls travel to Liberty on Monday March 15 with face-off set for 6:30 p.m. The boys play their home-opener Tuesday March 16 with a time to be announced.
