In a battle of Jefferson District powerhouses, reigning champion Fluvanna pulled away late to defeat Charlottesville 61-48. The Flucos trailed early in the game before securing the win with a monster fourth quarter. Senior YaYa Anderson scored 20 of his 34 points in the final quarter to secure the victory. The Flucos are 3-0 in league play, 12-1 overall.
Charlottesville was led by Daquan Jones with 12 points. The Knights fall to 0-2 in JD play and have four of their last five games.
Fluvanna trailed 18-9 after the first quarter and cut the deficit to one at the break. The Black Knights and Flucos headed into the final eight minutes tied at 35 a piece. Anderson put up 20 of the team's 26 fourth-quarter points as they pulled away in the final four minutes.
