The Virginia High School Coaches Associated announced the annual All-Star football team selections on Tuesday afternoon. The game will be a battle of East versus West, featuring some of the top high school stars in the state of Virginia.
Tommy Payne is a 2011 graduate of Louisa County High School, who signed his letter of intent to play for VMI next fall. The offensive lineman served as a protector for QB Kire' Worley who threw for almost 1,000 yards in their 11-1 season. Payne earned first team All-District, All-Region, and All-State honors. He helped guide the Lions to a state tournament berth and a perfect 7-0 Jefferson District mark.
Monticello graduate Chad Cieslewicz is one of six defensive backs selected for the East team. He was a first team All-District, All-Region, and Honorable Mention All-State selection for the 2010 fall season.
Cieslewicz and the Mustangs finished third in the Jefferson
District standings with a 4-3 record, 7-5 overall.
The East-West All-Star Game will be held on July 15, 2011 at Hampton University.
