Mustangs' Robinson Plans to Attend Post Grad School

March 20, 2012

Monticello senior Isaac Robinson told the Newsplex Tuesday that he has decided to play football for a post graduate program next fall. The all-star running back is deciding between Fork Union and Hargrave Military Academy.

Robinson said he hopes to use the next season to increase strength and garner interest from more Division I programs.

"It helps you develop more," said Robinson of a postgraduate option. "And it also gives you better looks. I'll build on what I did last year, obviously getting my size up and speed up, just building on what I did this year."

The Central Virginia Offensive Player of the Year rushed for 2,017 yards and 28 touchdowns in his first season starting for the Mustangs. Robinson is just the second player in Monticello program history to rush for over 2000 yards in a season.

Monticello head coach Rodney Redd agreed that the extra year will help show why he can be an asset to a program.

"Sometimes only having only one year to truly carry the ball may not be enough for a running back," he said. "To truly show what he can do or be exposed, even with the gaudy numbers."
