It marked a big day for Western Albemarle's golf team on Tuesday, as the Warriors claim second place in the state tournament in Blacksburg. Western finishes runner-up to host Blacksburg. The Warriors were fresh off a Region II championship, which they won a week ago. A big congratulations to the Warriors on that accomplishment.

Volleyball action saw Western Albemarle improve to a perfect 10-0 in Jefferson District play with a 3-0 win over Charlottesville. Riley Martin led the way with 24 assists and seven aces in the victory. The Warriors have four more district matches on their schedule.

William Monroe picked up a big district win by topping Fluvanna, 3-0. Elsewhere, Goochland took game one against Monticello, but the Mustangs charged back to earn the 3-1 victory. They improve to 8-2 in district play and have an outside shot at catching Western for the regular season title with some help.

Commonwealth District action saw Albemarle take on Colonial Forge. After the Patriots took game one, it was the Eagles taking control, as they sent Albemarle to the 3-1 loss.
