Former Virginia running back Perry Jones is sticking around Charlottesville and has joined the Albemarle High School football staff.
"We are excited that Perry is joining our staff," coach Mike Alley said in an email Tuesday night. "He will be a great mentor and inspiration to our players."
After finishing his UVa career in 2012, Jones spent time with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in camp this summer.
Jones was a captain for the Cavaliers in both his junior and senior seasons. He finished his career ninth all-time at UVa with 3,722 all-purpose yards, and is only the fourth player in school history to reach 1,000 career rushing and receiving yards.
Albemarle begins fall football practice on Monday, Aug. 5.
