Western Albemarle sophomore Remedy Rule finished fifth in her heat in the 100-meter butterfly on Monday at the U.S. Olympic Swimming Team Trials in Omaha.
Rule, swimming in the second of 17 preliminary heats in the event, finished 109th overall out of 161 swimmers with a time of 1:02.40. She entered the Olympic trials seeded 158th in the 100 butterfly.
The 15-year-old Rule qualified for three events at this week's Olympic trials. She is seeded 37th in the 200-meter butterfly, scheduled for Thursday; and seeded 131st in the 200-meter backstroke, scheduled for Saturday.
