VHSL Adjusts 5A-6A State Championship Schedule

Mother Nature has decided to make the Albemarle boys soccer and lacrosse teams wait it out a bit.

The VHSL announced Thursday it's moving the 5A-6A State Championships in northern Virginia back a day due to impending inclement weather, moving semi-final and final play from Friday-Saturday to Saturday-Sunday.

The move directly affects both the Albemarle boys soccer and lacrosse teams.

The Patriots' boys soccer team was scheduled to face Mills Godwin in a 5A semifinal Friday at 1 p.m.. That game will now be played Saturday at 12 p.m., with the championship match set for Sunday at 7 p.m.

The 5A Lacrosse Championship between Albemarle and Loudoun County set for Saturday is now Sunday at 2:15 p.m.

There has been no word on any changes for any of the other State Championship sites at Liberty and Radford.
