The proposed high school realignment plan that included a nine-team Jefferson District only lasted about a day.
The proposal for 2013-14 and 2014-15 released by the Virginia High School League on Wednesday - which included William Monroe, Orange Co., and Goochland returning to the Group AA Jefferson - was drawn up using incorrect enrollment estimates.
On Thursday the VHSL released a new proposal, using the correct enrollment numbers - and the updated alignment would include Orange remaining in Group AAA, and Goochland remaining a Group A school.
William Monroe would still move back up from Group A to rejoin the Jefferson, along with its six current schools, creating a seven-team district.
Monroe, Orange, and Goochland were all members of the Jefferson District until the VHSL's most recent realignment took effect this school year.
