Jefferson District Player of the Year Olivia Hajak scored the decisive goal in a 2-1 win for Western Albemarle over Charlottesville in Region II field hockey action Thursday night.
The Warriors will face Faquier, a 2-1 overtime winner over Monticello, in the final.
Western got on the board first off a corner opportunity. Moira Wright's drive was deflected by Jessie Powell in the box and found the back of the cage.
Charlottesville answered back midway through the second on a corner of its own. Annette Zenker found Emily Lichtenberger, who one-timed a pass to freshman Kendall Ballard. Ballard did the rest, slipping it past the goal and knotting the game at 1-1.
Hajak then scored the game-winner with under five minutes to play on a hard blast just inside the post.
