Monticello senior Brittany Haun is one of the captains on the Mustangs field hockey team and she is honored to be one of the players that her teammates look to for guidance. Last season she was selected to the All-State team, and she hopes for more of the same this season.
Haun is also a leader in the classroom. She has a 3.76 GPA (4.44 weighted) and says that doing well in school is extremely important to her. Her parents are a big influence as well, as both are involved in the education system.
In addition to excelling in the classroom, Haun also donates her time to trying to help others succeed academically. She tutors students in her coach's Algebra I class and says she really enjoys watching the students she tutors perform well and gain confidence in their studies. Haun is also active in the Key Club, SCA and the Big Brother / Big Sister mentor ship program.
Haun is not sure where she wants to attend college next year, but hopes to continue playing both field hockey and lacrosse at the collegiate level.
