Burger King Male Student Athlete of the Year: Anthony Kostelac

June 3, 2010

Anthony Kostelac has been named the Burger King Male Student-Athlete of the Year. The Albemarle track and field star has excelled on the track and cross country course, as well as in the classroom, and has made the most of his high school experience.

Kostelac is preparing for the state track meet, after another stellar season. Last year, he was part of a national record-setting 3200 meter relay team and he also won districts and regionals on the cross country course.

He also boasts a 3.9 grade point average in the classroom. Kostelac will take his talents on the track and in the books to the University of Virginia in the fall. He'll look to improve even more as a collegiate runner on the Division I level.

Congratulations to Anthony Kostelac and all the high school student athletes that were selected as student-athletes of the week throughout the school year.
