Fluvanna County High School junior Ben Lacey is this week's choice for Burger King Student Athlete of the Week.
Lacey was a starter on both the offensive and defensive lines for the Flucos football team, helping lead the Flucos to their best record in five years. On defense, Lacey recorded 75 tackles, seven sacks, two forced fumbles and one blocked kick. He was selected 1st team All-Jefferson District as a defensive lineman, and was also named Fluvanna's team defensive MVP.
On offense, Lacey was a key part of the offensive line that helped the Flucos rush for over 2,100 yards this season. He was also selected 2nd team All-Jefferson District at offensive guard.
In addition to football, Lacey also puts a lot of work in to his studies. He currently has a 4.125 weighted GPA and takes a number of upper level/honors courses. He is also on the daily announcements at FCHS.
Lacey is also a member of the Fluvanna wrestling team, and hopes to lead the Flucos to a second straight Jefferson District regular season title.
