Charlottesville High School is home to one of the most respected basketball programs in central Virginia. Richard Washington is one of just two seniors on the team who sit just three wins away from a state championship.
Washington, who also plays football and runs track with the Black Knights, maintains a 3.24 grade point average while also finding time to be the section leader of the drum line in the Charlottesville High School Marching Band.
Washington has had several memorable moments throughout his high school career as a black knight. One memory was just last month when the Knights took home a Jefferson District tournament championship. However, he insists that if he and his team find a way to win the state tournament - it would easily be the number one memory.
