Monticello High School senior Tyler Moneymaker is one of the area's most recognizable athletes. This past season, Moneymaker was a captain on the Mustang football team and saw time at both quarterback and wide receiver. Moneymaker helped lead the Mustangs to a 6 and 4 record, as well as an appearance in the Region II playoffs.
Now that football season is over, Moneymaker is focusing his energy on basketball. As the lone senior on the team, Moneymaker is taking on more of a leadership role for the Mustangs. He says he is trying to work hard and set a good example so that he can be a role model for the younger members of his team. Moneymaker plays power forward for the Mustangs, who are 2-2 on the year so far.
Moneymaker is also a leader in the classroom with a 3.78 GPA. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the English Honor Society, and he has also taken many dual-enrollment classes.
While he is undecided on where he wants to go to college next year, Moneymaker hopes to play football at the collegiate level.
