The Cavalier Men's and Women's Basketball Teams are both in the midst of their first full week of practice, as both prepare to tip off their 2007-2008 campaigns.
Dave Leitao's Virginia Men are coming off a 21-11 season that saw them tie atop the ACC standings with an 11-5 conference record. The Cavaliers also advanced to the second round of the ACC Tournament. While Virginia loses J.R. Reynolds and Jason Cain from last year's team, the Cavs still return a solid core of athletes, headlined by All-American Sean Singletary. Virginia tips off its season on November 11th against Vermont.
Meanwhile, the Cavalier Women are hard at work as well, looking to improve on last year's 9-15 showing. Virginia returns its three leading scorers in Sharnee Zoll, Lyndra Littles, and Monica Wright, who all ranked among the ACC's top 12 last season. They will open up play on November 10th, as they host Longwood.
