Cavalier running back Mikell Simpson and defensive end Chris Long are respective ACC Players of the Week.

Simpson earned Offensive Back of the Week honors, following his breakout game against Maryland. The redshirt sophomore finished with 119 yards rushing and two touchdowns, and also pulled down 13 receptions for 152 yards, marking one of the greatest individual performances in Virginia history. His 271 all purpose yards rank sixth in school history, and he is only the fifth player in ACC history to gain 100 yards in both rushing and receiving in the same game.

Long is the conference's Defensive Lineman of the Week, after recording a season high ten tackles, including two sacks, one of which was a safety. He is third in the country in sacks, and is a semifinalist for the Lombardi Award.
