With its 17-16 win over Wake Forest on Saturday, the Cavalier Football Team set an NCAA record with five wins by two points or less. Virginia drove down the field and scored the eventual winning touchdown on a Mikell Simpson one yard run with two minutes to play.

There were several keys to the Cavalier victory. Junior wide receiver Maurice Covington had the best game of his career in a Cavalier uniform, pulling down four receptions for 76 yards and his first career touchdown. Covington's score put Virginia ahead 10-6 going into halftime.

The defense also stepped up once again. Virginia sacked Wake Forest quarterback Riley Skinner three times, and Ras-I Dowling pulled down his second interception in as many games.

Virginia travels to Miami on Saturday to face the Hurricanes in what will be the final game at the historic Orange Bowl. Kickoff is set for 7:15pm. Please continue to check our web channel for complete coverage leading up to the game.
