Lyndra Littles came off the bench for 25 points and eleven rebounds, but it was not enough to escape a late rally by George Washington, as Virginia fell to the Colonials, 70-68. The loss drops the Cavaliers to 1-1 on the season.

14th ranked George Washington began the game by going on a 10-1 run, before Virginia answered with 12 straight points. The Cavaliers led by as many as eight in the first half, and took a three point lead into halftime.

The Cavs led by seven points with seven minutes to play, but were held scoreless for the next three minutes, in which the Colonials exploded for 12 unanswered points. Virginia had a chance with 12 seconds to play, but Sharnee Zoll's jumper fell short, and GW closed the door.

Aisha Mohammed posted 12 points and nine rebounds, while Paulisha Kellum added 12 points. Zoll finished with nine points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Antelia Parrish led George Washington with 18 points and ten boards, while all five of the Colonial starters posted double figures in points.

Former Orange County stand out Sarah-Jo Lawrence returned to Charlottesville as a starter for George Washington, and had quite a night of her own. Lawrence played 34 minutes, putting up 14 points. She also pulled down four rebounds and dished out three assists, while adding a block and two steals.

After two straight games at John Paul Jones Arena to open their season, the Cavaliers will hit the road for the first time on Thursday, as they battle South Carolina. Tip-off is set for 7:00.
