Mike London to Richmond?

January 9, 2007

Virginia defensive coordinator Mike London is a graduate of the University of Richmond, and if the pieces to the puzzle fall in the right places, he could be returning. Current Richmond head coach Dave Clawson is a candidate for the vacant Tennessee offensive coordinator position, and if he takes the job as a Volunteer, expect London to be a top candidate to replace him.

London graduated from Richmond in 1983, and interviewed for the Spiders' head coaching position back in 2004, when the job was originally given to Clawson. During the past two seasons, he has produced Cavalier defenses that are among the best in the country.

Richmond visits Scott Stadium next season to face Virginia. We will keep you updated as this situation develops.
