Fresh off its first ACC win of the season, the Cavalier Men's Basketball Team heads back out on the road, as it faces off against Florida State on Wednesday night. Virginia enters the contest at 11-5, 1-2 in the ACC, while the Seminoles are 12-7, with a 1-3 conference mark.
Virginia picked up its first ACC win in convincing fashion on Saturday night, topping Boston College, 84-66, and snapping a three game losing streak. The three game skid was tied for the longest under Dave Leitao. The Cavaliers improved to 5-1 against the Eagles.
Meanwhile, Florida State has lost its last three games, most recently Sunday at Wake Forest. The Seminoles gave Duke a run for its money last week, but ended up losing, 70-57, as the Blue Devils closed out the game on a 16-2 run.
Last season, these two teams clashed at John Paul Jones Arena, with Virginia earning the 73-70 win. Florida State's Al Thornton posted a huge double-double, dropping 30 points and pulling down 16 rebounds. Thornton is no longer with the Seminoles, something that makes Leitao breathe a little easier.
Tip off for Wednesday's match up is set for 7:00.
