The Cavalier Women's Basketball Team is playing some of its best basketball at just the right time. Virginia is out to a 4-1 record in ACC play, and has won nine of its last ten, with the only loss coming at the hands of then-fourth ranked Maryland.
The Cavs' latest triumph came Saturday night, as they topped Florida State, 69-66. Aisha Mohammed had a monster night, scoring 18 points, and pulling down a school-record 21 rebounds. Sharnee Zoll, Lyndra Littles, and Monica Wright each added 12 points in the victory.
Virginia now has the entire week to prepare for its next opponent, NC State, which visits John Paul Jones Arena on Friday. The Wolfpack enters at 14-7, 2-4 in the conference. Last season, NC State got the best of the Cavaliers, winning by an eleven point margin in Raleigh.
The schedule is kind down the stretch for Virginia in terms of location. Six of the final ten games on the Cavaliers' schedule are at home. As for Friday's match up with the Wolfpack, tip off is set for 7:00pm.
