The ACC woes continue for the Virginia Cavaliers, as they fell to Maryland on Wednesday, 85-75. Guard Sean Singletary, battling a hip pointer, scored 23 points in the loss. Virginia falls to 1-5 in the conference, its worsts start to conference play since the 2004-05 season.
Calvin Baker scored a career-high 17 points, and Mamadi Diane had 16 for the Cavaliers.
Virginia hasn't won a road game in their last six tries, dating back to a win at Maryland last year. The Cavs have currently lost three games in a row, and six of their last seven.
Sean Singletary moved into eighth place on Virginia’s career scoring list with 1,774 points, passing Harold Deane (1,763) and Curtis Staples (1,757)
Virginia visits Virginia Tech on Saturday.
