CBS19 has learned that former head coach Bob Pruett will join the Virginia coaching staff as defensive coordinator. An announcement is expected from the University of Virginia tomorrow.

Pruett last served as the head football coach at Marshall from 1996-2004. He is the Thundering Herd's winningest coach, compliling a 94-23 record in Huntington, including two undefeated seasons, and led Marshall to a bowl game in five of his seven years at the head of the program.

Pruett replaces Mike London, who departed to take the Richmond head coaching job in January.

A West Virginia publication reported that Pruett would also be assistant head coach, but that has not been confirmed by CBS19. We will keep you updated on any developments.
