Cavs Fall in Durham, 78-70

The Cavalier women's basketball team lost to Duke Sunday afternoon, 78-70. The Cavs trailed by one at halftime, but exploded the the second half. The Cavs went on an 8-0 run to open up play after the break. The Cavs led by as many at nine. But some costly turnovers gave Duke the opportunity to win the game. The Cavs turned the ball over on four consecutive possesions. Monica Wright led the Cavaliers with 23 points. Aisha Mohammad notched 18 points and 14 rebounds.

The Cavs are 8-4 and sit in fourth place in the ACC standings. There are only two more games left in the regular season. If the Cavs can hold on to fourth place in the ACC, they will earn a first round by in the ACC tournament in Greensboro, NC. With the win today, Duke clinched the third place seed in the tournament.
