Sean Singletary scored a career-high 41 points, but the Cavaliers fell to Miami on Saturday, 95-93. Jack McClinton scored 34 points to lead the Hurricanes.
Virginia trailed 91-81 with 1:46 remaining, but the Cavs scored nine unanswered points to cut the lead to one with 40.6 seconds left. But Lance Hurdle hit a three pointer from the corner with 12.8 seconds to put the Hurricanes ahead 94-90.
The Cavaliers (13-13, 3-10 ACC) visit Georgia Tech on Monday.
