The Cavalier men's basketball team's 94-76 loss to Georgia Tech dropped its overall record to 15-15, and now Virginia can only wait and see if that is good enough to earn a bid to a postseason tournament. While the NCAA Tournament is not a possibility, two other postseason tournaments could be a distinct reality.

The National Invitation Tournament is one of Virginia's postseason possibiliies. The NIT has a 32 team field, and teams must hold a record of at least .500 to be eligible. The Cavaliers took part in the NIT two seasons ago, where they fell to Stanford in first round action.

The other tournament is the College Basketball Invitational. This marks the inaugural event of that tournament. The CBI will consist of 16 teams.

Virginia fell to Georgia Tech in the first round of the ACC Tournament last night, 94-76. It marked the first time since 1999 that Virginia lost in the first round.
