The No. 19 Virginia Baseball team defeated Boston College in ten innings on Saturday, 5-4. Freshman Jarrett Parker singled in the winning run. The Cavaliers (18-4, 4-4 ACC) wins their 16th consecutive home game.
It was a back-and-forth battle. Boston College took the 4-3 lead into the bottom of the ninth, but Dan Grovatt singled in Greg Miclat to tie the game at four and send it to extra innings.
In the tenth, Franco Valdez reached on an error with one out, and was replaced by pinch runner Corey Hunt. Hunt advanced to second on a wild pitch, and Jarrett Parker singled him home for the victory.
