Peter Lalich may have appeared in eight games last season, but don't think that means he is a shoe-in for Virginia's starting quarterback job in 2008. Al Groh said after the spring game on Saturday that all three quarterbacks looked good, and he will wait to determine a starter until preseason camp.

Lalich threw for two touchdowns and an interception last season, and had a rough spring game, throwing for three interceptions and no touchdowns. Senior Scott Deke, on the other hand, had a solid showing, throwing for two touchdowns, while sophomore Marc Verica found the end zone once, as well.

The starting quarterback job was vacated by Jameel Sewell, who was determined to no longer be enrolled at Virginia in January. Sewell started all 13 games for the Cavaliers last season, with Lalich getting significant playing time behind him.

Virginia's spring program lasted three weeks, and was composed of 15 workout sessions.
