The Virginia men's tennis team punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament round of 16, topping Penn State, 4-0. The Cavaliers led 2-0, before the match was moved to the Boar's Head Sports Club due to rain.

Sanam Singh and Houston Barrick grabbed a doubles win, along with Somdev Devvarman and Treat Huey, giving Virginia the 1-0 lead after doubles play. Michael Shabaz won his singles match just before the match was suspended, extending the lead to 2-0.

After play was moved indoor, Treat Huey and Ted Angelinos won their respective singles matches, giving the Cavs the 4-0 win. Virginia now advances to the round of 16 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where they will face either Michigan or Texas Tech on Friday. This marks the Wahoos' fifth consecutive trip to the Sweet 16. Last season, they became the first ever ACC team to reach the semifinals.
