Ben Rubeor scored three goals, including the game winner in overtime, as the Cavalier men's lacrosse team topped Maryland in the NCAA Quarterfinals, 8-7. With the win, Virginia advances to the national semifinals in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Maryland jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead, but the Cavs charged back, tying the game at three by the end of the first quarter. The Terps went on another run, and led 6-4 at the half. The third quarter saw Virginia pull to within one, 7-6, and Rubeor tied the game up at seven with the fourth quarter's lone goal. The senior's game winner came with less than a minute remaining in overtime.

The Cavaliers and Terrapins had split their two previous meetings this season. Virginia now improves to 2-3 against Maryland in the NCAA Tournament. The Wahoos move on to face either Syracuse or Notre Dame in the Final Four.
