The 2008 NBA Draft takes place next Thursday in New York City at Madison Square Garden, and former Cavalier Sean Singletary hopes to hear his name called. After passing up on the draft a year ago, Singletary's chance has once again arrived to take his game to the next level.
CBS19 caught up with Singletary's former coach, Dave Leitao, on Thursday. Leitao talked about Singletary's workout schedule since the end of the season, which included the pre-draft camp in Orlando, as well as a variety of other workouts. The Cavalier head coach also talked about some traits that Singletary has that would benefit an NBA club, which include not only his speed and skills, but his work ethic and will to win, as well.
Singletary was third in the ACC in scoring with 19.8 points per game, and locked up his third consecutive All-ACC First Team honor during his senior year. On June 18, 2007, Singletary announced that he was pulling his name out of the draft and returning to UVa for his senior year. This season, the former Cavalier is a projected second round pick.
The NBA Draft is next Thursday, June 26.
