A new era began this week at the University of Virginia, as Dave Koehn began his tenure as the Director of Broadcast this past Monday. Koehn takes the reigns as the Voice of the Cavaliers, and is educating himself with Charlottesville, Cavalier Fans, and opponents.
Koehn took some time to sit down with CBS19 on Wednesday afternoon, and talked about his move to Virginia. The Kansas graduate is excited to be working for an ACC school, and had nothing but good things to say about UVa. The facilities, especially John Paul Jones Arena, played a big part in his coming to Charlottesville, and he looks forward to football season.
The new voice will also get to experience places that he has always dreamed of. Koehn looks forward to traveling to places such as Duke and North Carolina for basketball, and also talked about the ACC football reputation.
Another thing Koehn touched on was the fans. He is impressed with how much Virginia fans know about history, and enjoys the Cavaliers' rivalry with Virginia Tech. He looks to bring energy and enthusiasm into homes and cars beginning in August.
