It has been an up and down off-season for the Cavalier football team, as off-the-field troubles cast somewhat of an ugly cloud over the program during a few instances. With camp beginning, however, the Cavs hope that is all behind them, as they look ahead to kicking off the season on August 30.

During his first press conference of the season, head coach Al Groh talked about dealing with some of those issues, stating that every case is different. He also talked about getting input from leaders on the team when deciding on what action to take in certain circumstances. Groh most recently dealt with two players being arrested at the end of July for petit larceny.

The head coach is entering his eighth season at the head of the program. Last season, he earned ACC Coach of the Year honors, after leading a team that was picked to finish fourth in its division to a 9-4 record, including a loss to Texas Tech in the Gator Bowl. Virginia surprised many by finishing second in the Coastal Division.

This season, the head coach, his staff, and his team will once again have their hands full, as they look to surpass a projected fifth place division finish. Click on the above video link to hear Groh's thoughts.
