Former Cavalier forward/guard Will Harris, who announced his intention to transfer on Friday, will continue his education and basketball career at the University of Albany. Harris will make the move to Albany by August 25 to start classes, and will be eligible to play by the 2009-2010 season.
Harris will receive a scholarship beginning this year, when he is eligible to practice, but cannot play in games because of Division I transfer rules. He actually played against the Great Danes when the Cavaliers topped them, 84-57, in the first round of the 2007 NCAA Tournament. Harris was scoreless in nine minutes of playing time during that game.
In two years at Virginia, Harris averaged 3.3 points and three rebounds per game.
