Maggie Kistner and Kelly Quinn each scored a goal, as the Cavalier women's soccer team battled Georgetown to a tie, 2-2, in its final exhibition game. The Cavaliers had multiple opportunities to take the lead, but were unable to find the back of the net to break the tie.
Kistner put Virginia on the board first eleven minutes into the game. Georgetown's Samantha Baker tied the score in the 33rd minute, sending the game to halftime deadlocked at one apiece. The Hoyas scored first in the second half in the 70th minute, but Quinn's goal in the 71st minute tied the game back up. Both teams were unable to break the tie, as the game ended, 2-2. Exhibition games do not go to overtime or have a shootout.
The Cavaliers will open up their season on Friday as they host Loyola at 7:00 at Klockner Stadium. Virginia downed Loyola, 4-0, to open the NCAA Tournament last year.
