The Virginia football team will finish its non-conference schedule on Saturday, as East Carolina visits Scott Stadium. Al Groh and the Cavaliers will look to improve to .500 on the season, and finish even in the non-ACC portion of the schedule.
The Cavaliers are currently 1-2 in games outside the ACC. Virginia opened up the season with a 52-7 loss to USC, but came back to shut out Richmond, 16-0. The Wahoos other non-conference game was a disappointing one, a 45-10 loss at Connecticut.
Saturday will mark the third meeting between the Cavaliers and Pirates, with ECU winning the previous two meetings. The last time East Carolina visited Charlottesville, they routed Virginia, 61-10. ECU also topped the Cavaliers back in 2006 by a 31-21 count in Greenville.
Virginia is coming off its best performance of the year, a 31-0 win against Maryland, but the players say that they cannot let that be the best game they play. Virginia hopes to build off that game as they welcome the Pirates on Saturday.
