A Marshall University compliance officer's lawsuit involving Virginia defensive coordinator Bob Pruett has been rescheduled until the beginning of next year. David Ridpath's lawsuit will be heard in Huntington, West Virginia, on February 3, 2009.

Ridpath is claiming that he was made a scapegoat while Pruett was the head coach at Marshall, and the Thundering Herd program was being investigated by the NCAA. Pruett has been accused of forcing players to sign papers claiming false wages at off-campus job sites, and supplying players with copies of final exams prior the them being administered, according to signed affidavits by former players. He has denied those accusations.

Pruett has ignited the Cavalier defense during the last three games. After giving up 128 points through the first four games, Virginia has only given up 33 in the last three contests.
