Mount Saint Mary's put up a tough fight, but the Virginia women's basketball team came away with a 65-55 win on Sunday at John Paul Jones Arena.
Monica Wright had a game-high 27 points for the Cavaliers and Lyndra Littles notched her first double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Hassanah Oliver led Mount Saint Mary's with 14 points.
With the win, Virginia improves to 9-2 on the season, 5-0 at home. The Cavaliers will be back in action Sunday when they host the Marriott Cavalier Classic. Louisiana Tech takes on UMBC in the first game at 2:30 pm, followed by Virginia and Rider at 4:30 pm.
