The Cavalier men's lacrosse team faces off in its season opener on Saturday, as the Drexel Dragons visit Klockner Stadium. After falling to Syracuse in the national semifinals last season, the Wahoos look to begin a schedule that will eventually end with them hoisting the national championship trophy.

The Dragons have played Virginia tough the last two years. The Cavaliers held off a late Drexel charge to win on the road to open last season, 11-7. The Dragons actually got the better of the Cavs to open 2007, pulling off the 11-10 upset at Klockner Stadium.

Virginia enters the match up ranked number one in three of the four major lacrosse polls. They also have the Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Player of the Year in Danny Glading. Virginia is hungry after finishing 14-4 last year and falling just two wins shy of a national title. Face off is set for 1:00pm Saturday afternoon at Klockner Stadium.
