Virginia has locked up men's basketball coach Tony Bennett through 2019.
Bennett signed a new five-year contract extension with the school on April 13. His team is coming off a 22-10 season, and the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2007.
The terms of the new deal, a copy of which was obtained by the Charlottesville Newsplex, remain largely unchanged from the original contract Bennett signed when taking the Virginia job in March 2009. Bennett will continue to earn $1.7 million per season, with a $500,000 bonus if he is still coaching the Cavaliers following the 2014 season.
If Bennett leaves Virginia before 2014, he would owe the school a $1 million buyout. That figure would reduce by 15 percent with each following season.
