Virginia sophomore Stephen Bruno has decided to forgo his final two seasons as a Cavalier and has signed with the Chicago Cubs, according to his official Twitter account.
The Cubs drafted Bruno No. 224 overall in Round 7 of the MLB Draft. Bruno bounced back from an injury that cost him most of the 2011 season to lead the Cavaliers in several statistical categories, including batting average (.370), slugging percentage (.559), on-base percentage (.424), and RBI (54). His six home runs were second on the team.
