The No. 6 Virginia Cavaliers found themselves on the wrong end of six ties and six lead changes, as No. 10 Penn State escaped Klöckner Stadium Sunday with a 15-14 win. Virginia fell to 2-3 with the loss.
The Wahoos held an 8-5 lead at half but the Nittany Lions quickly reeled off six straight to take a three-goal lead.
Virginia came back to tie the game at 11 and got within 15-14 but Penn State held possession for the final two minutes.
Casey Bocklet led UVa with five points on two goals and three assists. Dana Boyle and Ashlee Warner led UVa with three goals.
Virginia returns to action on Saturday when the Cavaliers travel to Chapel Hill to face No. 3 North Carolina. First draw is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
